Butyl rubber sheeting, or isobutylene-isoprene rubber (IIR), is a high-performance synthetic elastomer designed for airtight seals and gas retention applications. It offers exceptional impermeability to gases and moisture, making it an ideal choice for sealing compressed air, inert gases, and vacuum systems.
This material delivers outstanding resistance to UV, ozone, and weathering, making it well-suited for indoor and outdoor applications where long-term durability is essential. However, it is not recommended for use with petroleum-based products, mineral oils, or chlorinated solvents.
