Translucent silicone rubber sheeting (SI) is a high-purity, synthetic elastomer composed of silicon, carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. It is widely recognised for its superior flexibility and clarity, allowing light to pass through while still maintaining excellent mechanical and thermal properties. Translucent silicone offers an extended temperature range compared to other grades and exhibits outstanding weathering, ozone, and UV resistance.
It is often chosen for applications requiring visual inspection or light diffusion, as well as in the food, pharmaceutical, and medical sectors due to its biocompatibility and regulatory compliance. Like other silicone grades, it offers excellent release characteristics and is highly resistant to moisture but should not be used with acids, ketones, or petroleum-based substances.
